When the place that you once shared with someone is tainted by the things they get up to there without you. Not pleasant. I once wrote about Montreal "these streets are mine, every road I take. there you linger, but here I am safe". I could have written a book about the emotions that I have about California that are connected to my relationship with the BGW, but now there's a new association and I don't know how it can be undone.
